From Carabao Island, we look into the universe and the ideas that shape our world.

Carabao Island Observatory and Think Tank is home to the Philippines’ largest telescope. It is a place to learn, discover, and have meaningful conversations.

A Place for Discovery and Thought

Carabao Island Observatory and Think Tank is built around two core pursuits: observing the cosmos and exchanging ideas that shape how we understand the world.

Set in a peaceful field near the beach, our location offers dark skies, quiet surroundings, and space to reflect, learn, and connect.

The Largest Telescope in the Philippines

The Observatory’s main attraction is a fully computerized 20-inch telescope, which is the biggest in the country. Guests can look through the optics to see planets, galaxies, and nebulae, or they can watch live projections on a 180-inch 4K screen. This technology allows both first-time visitors and experienced enthusiasts to experience the night sky in remarkable detail.

The Location: Carabao Island

Carabao Island is a small and less-developed island near Boracay, known for its quieter pace and open spaces. The observatory is located away from dense tourism areas, in a setting that allows for fewer distractions and more time to focus on observation, discussion, and rest.

Access is typically via Boracay, followed by a short boat transfer. This proximity makes Carabao Island reachable, while still offering a clear contrast to more active destinations nearby.
